GRONINGER FILMDAGEN

In summer 2025, Many-Worlds Studio was commissioned to build the digital platform for the first edition of Groninger Filmdagen. With only two weeks before its first promotion at Norderzon Festival, the challenge was to deliver a professional website that could present the event as established while it was still taking shape.

Concept

The festival set out to be both a showcase and a forum, connecting filmmakers, audiences, and partners from across the north. Its identity is rooted in Groningen, yet it also speaks to an international community of students, makers, and cultural professionals. The website had to capture that ambition: not a brochure, but a bilingual digital foyer — in Dutch and English — where the program, stories, and debates could live together while also supporting the practical needs of ticketing and schedules.

Development

Because the program was still evolving, I designed a flexible structure that could adapt as details changed. By stepping into the client’s perspective, I created a workflow that offered clarity under pressure, with a bilingual setup to welcome both local visitors and international guests. Each film received its own page with synopsis, credits, trailers, and ticketing, while the same framework supported workshops, debates, and company presentations. Sponsors and funders were integrated visibly, and the platform was built to last — scalable for future editions, much like the Nederlands Film Festival..

Problem

The real challenge was not simply building a site, but shaping a festival that was still defining itself. With constant changes and a strict deadline, the organization needed order, speed, and a way to connect many moving parts into one clear story.

By adapting to the client’s way of thinking and translating that into a flexible workflow, I delivered a platform that felt stable yet alive. Launched on schedule, the site became the festival’s public face at Norderzon, giving Groninger Filmdagen credibility, visibility, and a foundation to grow as a recurring cultural event in the north.
